Proof
card is a term that is generically used. Years ago, the term
'Proof Card' referred to a print sample. These print samples
were used to determine color accuracy and used for final art
approval. Today, proof cards may also be categorized as
unused card backs. Some card backs were used for packaging
mockups while others never made it through the final packaging
stage. Either way, these items have become a highly desired
collectible and nice addition to any pre-production collection.
